About Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (the Act) requires Scottish public authorities and Housing Associations (from 11 November 2019) to adopt and maintain a Guide to Information which complies with the Scottish Information Commissioner’s Model Publication Scheme and publish information in accordance with that scheme.
In addition to this duty to publish, organisations must respond to the requests for information they receive and help people who want to access information.
Alongside the Act, the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (the EIRs) provide a separate right of access to the environmental information that we hold.
Our Approach
As part of our commitment to openness and transparency, Milnbank Housing Association has adopted a Guide to Information which sets out the range of information we publish. Our Guide complies with legal requirements and is consistent with the Scottish Information Commissioner’s Model Publication Scheme.

Withholding Information
Under the Freedom of Information legislation, information may be withheld if there is a good reason for doing so.
If we withhold information, we will let you know why. If you are unhappy with our decision, or with the way we have dealt with your request, you can ask us to review our decision.
If you disagree with the outcome of the review, you can ask the Scottish Information Commissioner to investigate.
Our FOI communications with you will always provide full detail of our decisions and your rights – both for an internal review and to appeal to the Scottish Information Commissioner
