- The Association was originally known as Glasgow Fair Housing Association.
- The Association was registered in August 1975.

In an attempt to achieve this a number of services are in operation, which include window cleaning, owners not recharged for common repairs under the value of £20, backcourt maintenance, staircleaning, CCTV provision, freepost mailing service, photocopying, carpet discount.
- The Association, in addition to the mainstream stock, has a sheltered housing development, Walpole Housing Project and manages the Circus Drive Housing Project which provides accommodation for vulnerable young females.
- Milnbank's Management Committee is made up entirely from local residents who are elected by the shareholders at the annual AGM, plus 2 Glasgow City Council representatives.
- The Association has mainstream tenement flats, new build flats, terraced, semi and detached houses, sheltered accommodation, housing for wheelchair users, and specially adapted accommodation.
- The community hall is available to residents and non-residents of the Association for hire. The hire charge is extremely well priced and this facility is enjoyed by the community.
- Community participation is actively encouraged with residents views constantly sought via Resident Satisfaction Surveys, random surveys, area meetings, close meetings. The Association has an open door policy and residents have direct access to the managers of the Association.
- To date the Association employs 51 members of staff who implement the policies and decisions agreed by the members of the management committee.
