CHANGES TO BULK UPLIFT SERVICE FROM 28TH SEPTEMBER 2011
You will recently have been advised by Glasgow City Council that there are changes to the Bulk Uplift Procedures.
If you previously placed bulk refuse on the pavement at the front of your property to be collected you now need to put it at the rear of the property next to the bin store area and request an uplift by either phoning Glasgow City Council on 0141-287-9700 or completing the following:
When you contact Glasgow City Council you will have to provide a list of all items that you wish to be uplifted and this can take up to 7 days for uplift.
If a neighbour leaves items out and you wish to add to this you are still required to contact Glasgow City Council and advise them of the items you wish uplifted as it will not automatically be lifted with any other items that are already out for uplift.
DO NOT LEAVE ITEMS ON THE FRONT PAVEMENTS AND PLEASE ENSURE THAT ITEMS ARE NOT BLOCKING PATHWAYS OR ACCESS TO THE BINSTORE AND ITEMS SHOULD NOT BE PLACED UNDER ANY WINDOWS. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU ALSO MAKE CONTACT WITH GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL TO REPORT THIS.
Please note that on the weeks there are Public Holidays there WILL NOT be a Bulk Uplift Service—this service will continue as normal the following week
Glasgow City Council Enforcement staff carry out surveillance at known fly-tipping sites in order to try and control this unacceptable behaviour. Fixed penalty notices of £50 may be issued for illegally dumping rubbish, i.e. fly-tipping. Major offenders may be referred to the Procurator Fiscal without the opportunity of paying a Fixed Penalty Notice and can face a fine of up to £40,000 by the Courts.
